What's inside

Systemic approach

Our online services follow a systemic approach, based on the corresponding theoretical and methodical backgrounds. This means we offer the kind of support that addresses topics, issues or so-called problems not just in isolation, but in the context of the relationships and systems with which they are associated. Problems and their affiliated symptoms are considered attempts to manage the whole system; they provide a starting point for the process but are not necessarily its entire focus.  In this systemic worldview, we are interested in the narratives of individuals and groups, try to nourish new perspectives through (sometimes) unusual questions or interventions, and foster a vocabulary based on appreciating the resources already at your disposal. Our goal is to equip you with new ways of seeing the world and to give you a range of methods to navigate it, each particularly suited to the task at hand.

Being consistently oriented toward resources and solutions does not mean glossing over difficult situations with fancy terminology, but to open up new possibilities and previously unused potential, based on what you already know to do. Or based on what you'd like to learn and develop.

This approach focuses on what's possible, instead of on what's not working. Together, we develop new narratives, expanding both the participants' perception of events and their options of reacting to them. In the process, you will learn to appreciate other people’s perspectives, because even as those differences can make life difficult, they also enrich it. Throughout, we strive to inject joy and humor into these collaborative efforts.

Mindfulness and Acceptance

Along with the systemic perspective, some aspects of mindfulness practice and the often counter-intuitive teachings of acceptance — in the sense of recognizing and embracing that which subjectively confronts us in any given moment — may also play a role in the coaching sessions.  In addition to examining those facets of life you want to change, we also pay attention to how you handle those deeper-seated portions of your work and private life, which slip past superficial evaluations. These may be issues or challenges, which are better dealt with by asking how one can live with them rather than expending all available energy to change them. Making that distinction may be quite difficult.

During our coaching sessions, supervision and counseling, we strengthen your ability to observe, so you can notice things that previously seemed inevitable or invisible. You will develop the courage to forge new paths in whichever direction is important to you.

Constantly practicing: Values

What is important to me and those around me right now?
Why do I think that this or that change is so important for me to make? How can I make different decisions and create different options for action on the basis of the values that give my life direction? Such questions often give pause and don't lend themselves to quick answers. We like to distinguish goals from values.

Goals are important — we need them to get going. But just as important are values, which form a foundation for these goals and which give us coordinates, toward which we would like to move in our private and professional lives.
However, values can be even more important than goals, as the former remain in place even when individual endeavors are completed.

And they can provide the foundation to shape new goals and endeavors.
